Hey There
My name is Bella Ye (Zihan Ye), a high school student of The Experimental High School attached to Beijing Normal University. I find comfort in films, photos, and stories that live between reality and imagination. I’m endlessly curious about how media shapes our view, and how a single image, sound, or sentence can quietly change the way we see.
about my
interest
I’m drawn to the quiet things that speak
a glance, a flicker of light, a sentence that almost says something.
Each medium has its own silence: the pause before a frame settles, the gap between two lines, the static between sounds. I want to understand what hides in those spaces, how media can turn private emotions into something shared, fleeting into something real.
Sometimes that means filming lion dancers in narrow alleys; sometimes, designing a logo that hums like a pulse.
Outside the frame, I enjoy in small rituals of focus such ads reading tarot cards to glimpse patterns in uncertainty, or practicing equestrian to feel a rhythm that’s natrual and quiet. These moments teach me patience: how to wait, how to watch, how to trust what isn’t yet visible.
About my
academy
I study across borders.
Art, Media, and Science,
chasing the connection between them.
I study how media shape perception. Courses in digital media production and film storytelling let me play with form; research on tattoos and self-expression taught me that theory can feel as alive as art.
At school, I lead a film association and edit a magazine that lives between window and shadow. What I love about academia is finding a lens that makes the ordinary suddenly worth noticing.
I like exploring where creativity meets structure.
Curiosity about flight and engineering led me to the Real World Design Challenge, where my team’s wildfire-monitoring drone won Global 3rd Place. Also, to F1 in Schools STEM racing, where we earned National 2nd Place for our F1 car design and branding.
about my future
I don't know yet.
